About
Phil Hague Creative Leader
I’m a creative growth strategist and design leader with 30 years of experience helping large organizations grow beyond their core.
Raised by an artist mom and a CFO dad, I learned early to bridge opposing worlds—a skill that became the foundation of my career.
My innovation work includes building cultures, frameworks, and cross-functional teams for some of the world’s most recognized brands, including Post-it, Command, Scotch-Brite, Tide, and Motorola. Earlier in my career, I designed everything from refrigerators for India, cosmetics for CoverGirl, and the original Swiffer as a core member of the launch team.
As Innovation Design Director in the 3M Consumer Business Group, I developed structure and process to drive the organization toward consumer-centric operations and lean launch experiments.
Before 3M, I spent 15 years at Webb deVlam, growing a five-person Chicago studio into a 50-person global brand innovation firm, and led diverse consulting engagements for Fortune 100 clients in the Jabil innovation studio. I hold an MBA magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and a BS in Industrial Design magna cum laude from the University of Cincinnati.
I believe breakthrough products are the byproduct of collaborative culture built on psychological safety. Building that culture is the foundational work for any leader striving to deliver sustained growth.
